The Ghana Police Service has taken decisive action by arresting nine individuals across the country for disseminating false news about the alleged disappearance of their genitals.
These baseless claims sparked fear and panic among the public, resulting in attacks on innocent citizens.
Following thorough police investigations, including medical examinations, it has been conclusively determined that all claims are unfounded.
Six individuals were apprehended in Kasoa, Central Region, two in Ashaiman, Greater Accra Region, and one in Nkawkaw, Eastern Region, for propagating these false allegations.
Out of those arrested, five have already been brought before the court.
Three of them have been remanded into police custody, while the other two have been granted bail.
According to statement issued by Police on Sunday, the remaining individuals are currently on police inquiry bail and will soon face legal proceedings.
Expressing grave concern over this disturbing trend, the Ghana Police Service strongly cautions the public against engaging in such criminal conduct, which not only falsely accuses innocent individuals but also incites violence and disrupts public peace.
