Ghana has recorded a total of 1042 confirmed cases of coronavirus after testing a total of 68,591 samples.
The number of cases tested is highest so far in Africa.
Nine (9) people have died from the disease while 99 people have recovered and discharged, according to the Ghana Health Service.
Over 900 people are currently receiving treatment either at home or at medical facilities.
The Ghana Health Service is continuing with the supervision of the completion of a backlog of laboratory samples that have been picked for testing for COVID-19.
“Total samples tested so far now stands at 68,591 with 1.52 % testing positive. The results of this backlog of samples when released do not mean the number of new cases recorded on the day of the report. Regions that have reported cases remain the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Northern, Volta, Upper East, Upper West, Central, Western and North-East regions.”
