A high-level dialogue convened jointly by the Ghana Refugee Board and UNHCR on the influx of Burkinabe asylum seekers to Ghana was held in Accra on Tuesday.
The meeting brought together participants from the Ministry of the Interior, Ghana, Regional Ministers and District Chief Executives from the hosting areas, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Police Service, NIB amongst others.
Also present was the UN Resident Coordinator.
The objective was to discuss and endorse a Refugee Response Plan for both Upper East and Upper West Regions.
After thorough deliberations, a plan was adopted; the elements of which will be contained in a Press Release to be issued before the end of the week.
