The Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif announced at the Minister’s Press Briefing that Ghana will be organising and hosting the 13th edition of the African Games.
A total of 22 sports disciplines comprising of Olympic and Non-Olympic sports will be competed in.
The Minister also disclosed that six Youth and Sports Centres are nearing completion, with an average rate of 92%.
These state-of-the-art facilities are located in Axim, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Dormaa Ahenkro, Wa, Koforidua, and Ho.
The Minister further mentioned that these six centres are scheduled to be officially commissioned by the end of this year.
Simultaneously, efforts are underway to resume work on phase two of the project for the remaining four centres, which include the centres at Nyinahin, Yendi, Navrongo and the renowned Azumah Nelson Sports Complex situated in Accra.
