The Ghana TVET Service held a training workshop for Industrial Liaison Officers (ILOs) at the GIMPA Executive Conference Centre in Accra.
The workshop was organized in partnership with the World University Service of Canada (WUSC).
The workshop was aimed at equipping ILOs with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively link TVET institutions with industry.
The topics covered included negotiation skills, production management, leadership, and workplace experience learning.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, the Deputy Director General for Operations, Mr. David Prah, said the workshop was a critical step in the implementation of the National TVET Qualifications Framework (NTVETQF). He said that the NTVETQF is the best and premier system of its kind in Africa, and that it is essential for Ghana to have a highly skilled workforce that meets the demands of modern industries.
The workshop was attended by over 150 ILOs from Technical Institutions across the Country. The participants expressed their appreciation for the training, and said that it would help them to better serve their Institutions and the Industries they work with.
The Ghana TVET Service is committed to providing quality training for it’s ILOs. The workshop is one of the many ways in which the Service is working to improve the quality of TVET delivery in Ghana.
