Executive Secretary of the Inter-ministerial coordinating committee on Decentralisation, Dennis Edward Aboagye participated in the 2022 Ghana Urban Forum at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
The Ghana Urban Forum has been convened over the years to provide an avenue for stakeholders to share knowledge and experiences to help address issues concerning planning, management and living in our cities and towns.
This has become increasingly important due to the emergence of more complex issues such as demographic and climate changes as well as the onset and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The GUF has since its inception in 2009, been used by the Ministry of Local Government to additionally, solicit stakeholder inputs into policy and programme documents, which includes; the National Urban Policy and Action Plan (2012), the Ghana Urbanisation Review Report: Ghana Rising (2015); the Habitat III Report (2016); and Ghana’s inputs into Africa’s position on the New Urban Agenda.
