Works and Housing minister, Francis Asensu-Boakye was part of the two-day 2022 Ghana Urban Forum (GUF), being held under the theme; “Rapid Urban Growth in Ghana: Promoting Effective Urban Planning for Liveable and Sustainable Cities and Towns”.
The minister urged stakeholders within the urban and built environment space to engage in effective dialogue geared towards ensuring the sustainable development of our country.
He indicated the forum offered practitioners, opinion leaders, and civil society, among others opportunities to begin a national discourse around sustainable urban growth.
He said, “This Forum presents a unique opportunity for government, practitioners, opinion leaders, and civil society, among others to begin a national discourse around sustainable urban growth while engaging the private sector in the delivery of urban services, and more importantly, defining urban areas beyond a population threshold”.
