In-form Ghana attacker Antoine Semenyo has expressed optimism about the Black Stars chances ahead of the 2026 World Cup tournament.
The Black Stars are set for their fifth World Cup appearance after securing qualification for the expanded tournament.
The global showpiece will feature 48 countries in the USA, Canada and Mexico, with Africa earning nine automatic slots.
The Black Stars are paired in Group L alongside European giants England, 2018 finalists, Croatia and Panama at the global showpiece.
“We’re going to come in big bunches, I’ll tell you that. I think in big tournaments like this, we want to show our culture, and we want to show we’re different from other nations—whether it’s dances, whether it’s singing, or just supporting the crowds… yeah, it’s just endless.
I think Ghana runs through so many people’s veins back home, and… yeah, we just love football. So, the World Cup’s going to be… it’s going to be amazing. Hopefully, God willing, we do well and… Yeah, looking forward to playing in America.” He told CBS Sports.
Ghana will open their World Cup account against Panama on June 17 in Toronto before taking on England in a high-stake clash on June 23 in Boston. The West African football giants will wrap up their group games against 2018 finalists, Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
