Ghana youth star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has popped up on the radar of three European clubs following his exploits at the U-20 AFCON tournament.
The 17-year old won the player of the tournament after helping the Black Satellite to win their fourth AFCON title last month in Mauritania.
His outstanding performance earned him a call up into the national team for the AFCON qualifiers but was dropped when he joined the Black Stars B for Uzbekistan friendly.
Fatawu subsequently shines for the Black Stars B after scoring Ghana’s consolation goal against Uzbekistan in the 2-1 defeat.
However, according to the owner and bankroller of Steadfast FC and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, there are clubs from Austria, Geneva, Italy and Qatar who are interested in the player.
According to reports, Austrian giants, Red Bull Salzburg, Swiss outfit, FC Basel and Italian side Udinese Calcio are keenly on the heels of the player.
“We’ve had some offers from some major football clubs internationally. We are looking for some offers from Austria, Geneva, Italy and from Qatar.” He told Joy Sports.
“We are weighing what gives him the best opportunity and the club, the best returns tomorrow. More importantly, he has the opportunity to play and contribute to Ghana achieving some soccer laurels in terms of bringing gold to Ghana,” he said.
