Ghana and Frankfurt forward Ansgar Knauff has won the UEFA Europa League Young Player of the Season award.
The 20-year-old who joined Frankfurt on loan from fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund played an instrumental role in the club’s success in the Europa League.
Frankfurt defeated the Scottish side Rangers 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Knauff played every minute in the knockout campaign for Frankfurt, scoring against European powerhouse Barcelona.
The Ghanaian forward was key when his outfit edged past West Ham United in the semifinal.
The on-loan Dortmund attacker made seven appearances in the Europa League, scoring two goals and providing one assist as Frankfurt.
