Ghanaian forward Dauda Mohammed is confident about the Black Stars World Cup qualification chances.
The Black Stars will play the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a two-legged encounter with the winner of both legs securing qualification to the biggest soccer Mundial in Qatar.
The four-time African champions will play host to Nigeria on March 25, 2022, before the reverse fixture at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on March 29, 2022.
In an interview with Kwaku Sarpong Sarkodie of Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former Asante Kotoko striker expressed Ghana can qualify considering the records they hold against Nigeria.
“Anything can happen in football, on will say Nigeria is ahead of Ghana because of their recent performance but there is always an approach to a game, though the Black Stars did not performance at AFCON it is different World Cup qualifiers”
“I believe the preparation for the Nigeria game will be different from that of the AFCON. It’s a rivalry game and everyone knows our strength when we play against them. If we are able to keep our records against them, we will be able to qualify”
Dauda Mohammed who currently plies his trade for Spanish second-tier side FC Cartagena says he will not be surprised if he gets called up for the upcoming game.
