Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced the transfer of their captain Richard Boadu to Libyan club Al Ahly SC in the ongoing transfer window.
Boadu is joining the club on a permanent deal, subject to medicals as disclosed by the Porcupine Warriors.
The tough-tackling midfielder rejoined Kotoko in September 2021, playing an integral role in the club’s Premier League triumph in the 2021/2022 season.
Boadu was named Club captain at the start of the 2022–2023 season, having shown resilience, commitment, and stellar performances in his debut season with the club.
The skipper leaves with the record number of tackles in the team and most duels won, scoring two goals with five assists and eight man of the match awards in his last season with the Club.
