Ghanaian-born Italian striker Kelvin Yeboah was on target but it was not enough to save his outfit Minnesota United from defeat in the Major League Soccer.
Yeboah, who secured a move to the MLS outfit in July lasted the entire duration as Minnesota United succumbed to a 2-1 home defeat to FC Cincinnati on Thursday.
The former Genoa forward was one of the brightest spot for Minnesota despite suffering defeat in the trilling encounter held at the Allianz Field.
The visitors shot into the lead through Yuya Kubo in the 34th minute mark after he was set up by Chidozie Awaziem before Luca Orellano scored to double the advantage for Cincinnati few minutes to the halftime break.
After recess, the Ghanaian attacker converted from the spot to reduce the deficit for the home team in the 54th minute but that could not save them from losing the game at their own backyard.
The 24-year-old attacker has racked up three goals and provided an assist in three games for Minnesota United.
He will be hoping to maintain his fine form for his outfit for the remainder of the season.
Yeboah, who has already featured for the Italy U21 team is still eligible to switch allegiance and play for the Black Stars.
