Ghana international Ernest Nuamah has been nominated for the CAF Young Player of the Year award following his outstanding performance.
The Black Stars winger was included in the ten-man shortlist released by CAF on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 for his top performance between November 2022 and September 2023.
Nuamah was impressive last-term during his spell with Danish club, FC Nordjaelland, racking up 15 goals and serving 5 assists in 35 games last season.
He bagged three top awards in Denmark last season due to his swashbuckling performance for Nordjaelland. He was voted as the Player of the Year, Player of the Spring and Young Player of the Year last season.
Nuamah’s secured a big summer move to join French giants Olympique Lyon.
He will have to beat off competition from Alio (Senegal), Souleymane, Gift Orban (Nigeria), Bilal El Khannouss (Morocco), Abdessamad Ezzalzouli (Morocco), Pape Diop (Senegal), Papa Amadou Diallo), Lamine Camara (Senegal), Amara Diuf (Senegal), and Dango Ouattara (Burkina Faso).
According to CAF, the ceremony will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, in the city of Marrakesh, Morocco.
