It seems the decision by President Akufo-Addo to finally revoke the ministerial appointment of Hon. Sarah Adwoa Sarfo has not been any good news to many Ghanaians, especially the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC.
President Akufo-Addo on Friday, 29th July, 2022 through Eugene Arhin, Director of Communication at the Presidency indicated the decision was in accordance with 1992 constitution as a minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
However, Akuapem North NDC Deputy Youth Organiser, Ahmed Agbenyadzi, has challenged the President and the Economic Management Team to focus on the sinking economy and find means of reviving it rather than bothering Ghanaians with internal party issues.
He argued the issue regarding Dome-Kwabenya lawmaker should not take the centre stage of the country’s current debate as there are more pressing issues that are killing Ghanaians due to poor management of the economy over the past 6 years.
“My brother, I don’t know why this Government is disturbing Ghanaians with this issue of Adwoa Sarfo. Even NPP MPs who are always present at Parliament have not done anything positive to support the government so are they not the same as Hon. Adwoa Sarfo? Ghanaians are expecting President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia to fix the broken economy not this back and forth issue of Adwoa Sarfo” Ahmed Agbenyadzi told the reporter in an interview.
The NDC Communicator added that Ghanaians are now living in pain and anticipation due to the effects of the current state of the economy, making livelihood very difficult for many.
He, however, assured Ghanaians the next NDC government in 2025 will ensure good and pragmatic policies are implemented to redeem the country’s economic credentials.
