Ghana’s Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to present the 2021 budget to the parliament today, November 17, 2021, in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution.
This presentation seeks to make projections for economic policy, consolidate economic gains achieved so far and seek approval for public expenditure.
With this, a cross-section of Ghanaians in the Eastern region, Koforidua, had indicated their expectations in the budget statement to be presented to parliament by the Finance Minister.
In an interview piloted by the Joy Daddy multimedia (Bryt FM), most of the citizenry especially, drivers of the GPRTU expressed major challenges on roads including fuel prices, schools, street lights, economic hardship and many others.
According to them, Koforidua to Accra, Nkurankan, Asokore roads are in a poor state (potholes) and its breeding accident, damaging of cars so the little money they earn a day, is the same money they used for their car maintenance so they earn nothing at the end of the day.
Therefore, they are expecting the finance minister to address issues on roads, fuel prices to enable them to get some for their pocket.
One driver, Joe, stressed that they have paid road toll for many years yet they haven’t experienced any good things from it.
Mr Walaa, is also expecting the Finance Minister to touch on strategies that would ensure that prices of goods and services decrease starting with petrol and foodstuffs since we are approaching Christmas.
