American based striker Elvis Amoh says Ghanaians should stop joking about the outbreak of coronavirus which has brought everything in the world to a standstill.
Ghana has so far recorded six cases of COVID-19 and the former Kumasi Asante Kotoko forward who plies his trade in America for Loudon United thinks it is about the time his compatriots take matters seriously.
The deadly virus has led to several events being suspended until further notice due to its rapid spread.
Speaking in an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM, he played down assertions that coronavirus does not affect black people and is of the view that anyone can be affected.
“As I speak, I think things are gradually coming down here but what I will say is that most of the things have been suspended for safety reason”
“For now I don’t think players plying their trade for clubs here have been affected. I think everybody is fine”
“In fact the virus keeps improving day by day in some countries, so I will entreat Ghanaians to take matters seriously. The virus is not something we should be joking with as a country” he said.
“It is about time we come together and take the necessary precautions and also pray to the almighty God for his protection from this deadly disease so we can overcome it” he ended.
