Principal of Penniel Educational Complex, Mrs. Joyce Opoku Acheampong has emphasized the need to ensure teaching and learning of the French language in schools.
According to the Educationist, Ghana is located around francophone countries, and therefore the need for Ghanaians to be abreast with the French language to do away with challenges in communicating.
Mrs. Joyce Opoku Acheampong disclosed this as the school joined France to celebrate this year’s FRENCH WEEK at its premises at Koforidua Galloway.
She emphasized President Akufo-Addo’s earlier call to make the French language a priority in our everyday activities to be able to communicate with French nationals whenever there is the need to do so.
“This is our edition in commemorating the day and I will assure you that we are going to sustain it yearly” the Principal assured.
Meanwhile, some pupils who spoke to the media expressed joy at the language study as it would go a long way to help them be abreast with the language for future purposes.
Others were also of the view that studying the French language would help them know more about the French and also enable them to express themselves should they visit the country in the future.
