Political and Conflict Resolution expert, Professor Kwame Agyenim Boateng has emphasized that many Ghanaians have interest in the local governance system because they want to put leadership in check.
He indicated that Ghanaians want to have good and convenient livelihoods, that is, quality healthcare, good roads, improved security and low cost living hence the decision to get involved in the governance system.
Speaking on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem on Monday April 7, the Kings University Lecturer stated that it has therefore raised the moral of many people to contest positions in the local Assemblies across the country.
Professor Agyenim Boateng was satisfied with the appointments made by President Mahama, indicating there is hope for a better Ghana in the coming years.
“Looking at his (Mahama) appointments so far, I can say that the President is determined to leave a legacy in his second return. I can see he (Mahama) want to leave a legacy so he can stand out comparing his work to that of former President Akufo-Addo and the NPP administration.
