The Medical Superintendent of Abuakwa Poly Clinic in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality of the Ashanti region, Dr. Emmanuel Mensah Manye has advised Ghanaians to have periodic health screening at least every three to six months.
According to him, that would help minimize ailments that usually occur and if not addressed could be disastrous in the future.
He made this assertion during public education with patients encouraging them to avoid self-medication, as several cases reported, are emanating from those practices.
He also spoke against buying drugs for hawkers on the streets and transport yards since most of the sellers know little or nothing about medication prescriptions.
On his plans to develop the Abuakwa Poly Clinic well as he did at Ejura Government Hospital previously, he appealed to all stakeholders to come on board and support the Ghana Health Services as the government alone cannot furnish all their grievances saying health is shared responsibility.
