Former Adansi Asokwa MP K.T. Hammond has stated that if former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not elected president in 2028, Ghanaians will suffer.
He affirmed his deep belief in Dr. Bawumia’s capacity for leadership and insisted that, if given the opportunity, he is capable of directing the nation’s affairs.
Speaking on September 10 during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign visit in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Hammond denied that the former vice president was the target of religiously motivated criticism.
Suggestions that Dr. Bawumia cannot be president due to his Muslim faith were deemed “madness” by him.
“Have you monitored Bawumia’s capabilities and hard work? It’s madness to say Bawumia is a Muslim, so he can’t be a President. We will suffer if Bawumia is not elected as President,” he stated.
Mr. Hammond advised Ghanaians to choose their next leader based on skill and dedication rather than religious concerns.
