Amid the AU Day celebrations on May 25, the Prime Minister of Barbados, H. E. Mia Mottley hosted our CEO, Yofi Grant, alongside Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Hon. Ibrahim Awal, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, and the CEO of GTA, Akwasi Agyeman.
They discussed how to build on existing relationships to create greater linkages between Africa, Barbados and the Caribbean.
Avenues explored included increased airlift and connectivity, mutual business development, cultural exchanges, & agricultural development.
As echoed in the objectives of the AU, the meeting served as an excellent reminder that that there is much success to be had in connecting and collaborating as Africans.
This meeting formed part of the Centre’s ongoing Investment Promotion Mission to the Caribbean.
