The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in Eastern Region Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi who double as Deputy trade Minister has urged Christians to unite and support the government led by H.E Nana Akufo-Addo in his perseverance in fixing the current economic crises .
According to the MP, despite the economic difficulties Ghana is far better than other African countries hence the need for Christians to have faith in God and continue to pray to support the President and his minister so that together the economy is brought back to its path of growth and prosperity.
Additionally, Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi revealed that in the midst of Ghana’s economic challenges government continue to embark on developmental projects which New Juaben South is receiving its share.
He announced that Pentecost Senior High School has been selected to benefit from government’s “smart school project” which will transform the school to be a model school of academic excellence.
Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi made the disclosure on Sunday during the climax of this year’s Easter Convention by the Koforidua Area of the Church of Pentecost held at the Jubilee Park.
The theme for the Convention was ” That I May Know Him And The Power Of The Resurrection” from Philippians 3: 8-11.
The MP commended the Church for its contribution to national development and spiritual strength of the country.
The Koforidua Area Head for The Church of Pentecost Apostle Mike Etrue admonished christians to remain firm despite the economic challenges and let the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ be a symbol of hope , peace and joy as well as Strengthening of our faith.
He said the economic hardship is a global phenomenon and not only Ghana hence as christians we need to pray whilst in our family lives too we plan very well by maximizing our income spendings.
Apostle Mike Etrue further urged Politicians to eschew corruption and tread cautious to utterances which has the potential to disturb the peace we are enjoying as a country.
The Convention was attended by 7,733 members .A total of 59 souls were won during the convention . Fifteen(15) were baptized by immersion while 115 received Holy Ghost Baptism.
Twenty-six (26) members experienced the healing through the resurrection power of Christ.
