As education empowers the younger generation to pursue higher academic levels for better job opportunities and contributes to the nation’s development, Nana Akuffo Kwapong (Tutu Akuapem Mawerehene) have described Ghana’s education system as a platform for producing criminals.
Nana Akuffo Kwapong explained that Ghana’s education system is an academic field for producing intelligent criminals.
To him, the education system has failed Ghanaian graduates to get jobs after their acquired knowledge and skills.
Nana Akuffo Kwapong stated emphatically that graduates are deeply engaged in corruption cases in the country, adding that Ghanaians valued certificates.
“We must put measures in place to change the narratives about our education system in Ghana. We need to introduce more in our education system to enable graduates to get job opportunities,’’ said Nana Akuffo Kwapong.
Speaking to the press during the Tutu Ayikese celebration, Nana Akuffo Kwapong called for change in the education system to help the younger generation get job opportunities for sustainable growth.
Nana Akuffo Kwapong bemoaned over inadequate jobs for the university graduates in the country.
Speaking of the Tutu Ayikese celebration, Nana Akuffo Kwapong disclosed that it has boosted the Tutu-Akuapem local economy as many people traveled from far distances to mark the celebration.
He called on the youth to remain calm before, during, and after the forthcoming December general elections.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Osafohene Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, stated the celebration was to recognize the efforts and sacrifices made by the forefathers for the good people of Tutu in the Eastern region.
Dr. Afua Asabea Asare I explained that Tutu Ayikese celebrates uniting the people within Tutu and its environs by displaying Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.
She promised massive development and job opportunities for the youth in Tutu.
People from all walks of life remembered Nana Kwabena Boafo Asiedu II, Tutuhene, and Akuapem Kronkohene, who reigned from 1916-1985, during the celebration.
