Effutu municipality has held Christian prayers at the Winneba Methodist church as part of programs line up for this year’s Ghana’s Independence Day celebration.
The municipality on Friday, 25th February 2022 held Moslem prayers to pray for Effutu and Ghana at large with a clean-up exercise done on Saturday.
Ghana’s 65th national independence anniversary celebration slated for 6th March 2022 will be hosted by the Central region in Cape Coast with all regional and MMDAs expected to follow suit.
The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alhaji Zubairu Kassim was accompanied by the Regional Lands Commission Chairman, Hon. K.K. Danso, Effutu Municipal Finance Officer, Mr. Enock Obeng, Effutu NPP Council of Elders Member, Mr. Kofi Taylor, and some Assembly members.
He stated “Central Region is privileged to host this year’s Independence Day Celebration. Effutu has the Asafo Groups, Masqueraders (Fancy Dress group), Young Chorus Choir and the Winneba Senior High School representing the Municipality at the National Parade in Cape Coast come 6th March”.
He called on the people to pray for the leadership of Ghana and the people of Effutu to help maintain the peace and also accelerate the country’s development agenda.
“Thanks to the 6th March Planning Committee and the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan for allowing Effutu to display our culture to the good people of Ghana and the world at large” the MCE emphasized.
