The Service joined the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment today to launch the ‘Ghana Against Drugs (GAD) – Red Means Stop’ campaign, a national initiative aimed at addressing the rising issue of opioid abuse in the country.
The campaign focuses on raising awareness about the dangers of opioid abuse, especially the street drug ‘Red,’ and seeks to actively engage the youth in efforts to curb this growing crisis.
The event brought together key partners, including government agencies, the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, FDA, WHO, YEA, Narcotics Control Commission, Customs Excise and Preventive Service, Ghana Immigration Service, as well as bloggers and media personnel, all united in the fight against opioid abuse.
Through policy discussions and coordinated actions, the campaign seeks to mitigate the impact of drug abuse and protect future generations from its harmful effects.
