The Eastern Region has recorded a total of 2,294 COVID -19 cases from March to 29th August 2020 with 31 deaths, according the the Health Directorate.
Active cases as of 29th August 2020 stood at 188 and 2075 persons who contracted the Deadly virus have recovered.
Total number of tests conducted under the period were 9,897 and Results received were 9,231, representing 93%.
Across the country, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 jumped to 44,205 after 87 new cases were recorded by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on 29th August.
Deaths related to the infection have also risen to 276 after the GHS counted six more fatalities in its latest case management update.
Clinical recoveries from Covid-19 have also increased to 42,777, leaving an active case count of 1,152.
