The Ghana Institute of Journalism, Ringway Estate campus has been closed down temporarily as two staff of the institute has tested positive for coronavirus.
The closure of the school is to ensure that fumigation will take place on the campus and the other one at Dzorwulu.
Consequently, the school has begun its online studies as the safety of the teachers and students is at risk.
Because of the school’s directives, the school will resume its work from Monday, February 1.
The communiqué reads; “notice is hereby given that there would be a temporary closure of the Ringway campus of GIJ from Monday, 25th to Friday, 29th January 2021.
The closure is due to two members of staff testing positive for Covid-19, work will resume on Monday, 1st February 2021, after fumigation of both the Ringway and North Dzorwulu Campuses are complete”.
The school’s management had already informed the students of their decision to migrate the face-to-face studies online for the safety of the students, teachers, and members of the staff.
Due to that, they have put the certain measure in place to ensure the students continue the academic timetable despite the unfortunate incident.
