Students of the University of Ghana, Legon are asking the authorities of the school to refund part of their 2019/2020 both residential and tuition fees.
According to the students, due to the deadly coronavirus disease, and also the ban on social gatherings have seen them take online classes for the semester and for that reason they are entitled to receive part payment of their fees as they weren’t present in class physically.
Kojo Danquah and Sampson Tagbor who happens to be the lead petitioners, stated that since the introduction of the novel coronavirus disease, students of the school do not get access to the schools’ facilities such as libraries, sports fields and Wi-Fi which they are entitled to during registration.
In view of this, the two lead petitioners are calling on the student body to sign the petition as they seek for a fee refund.
“Provide your details below, you are assisting the petitioners to make a strong case to the university management and the relevant stakeholders to consider refunding part of fees for the 209/2020 academic year (specifically, this second semester)”, the petition stated.
