The Executive Director of WACAM (Wassa Association of Communities Affected by Mining), Mr. Daniel Owusu-Koranteng in his capacity as an author, has presented 49 copies each of his two new books, “Paying My Debt – An Autobiography” and “The Wanderer’s Poems: An Anthology of Twenty-five Poems,” to the Ghana Library Authority(GLA).
The Technical Director of WACAM, Mr Kwaku Afari (Esq), also presented to the Ghana Library Authority the following books on mining and environment on behalf of WACAM; The Right to decide: Free prior informed consent in Ghana, 2021 Onshore Petroleum Exploration in Ghana: A Study of Community Rights, Exploring local content potential for participation in gold and oil and gas exploitation in Ghana: A case of Tano North and Nkoranza South Municipalities and WACAM’s training manual for advocacy in miniing communities: August 2019.
Mr. Owusu-Koranteng at the brief book presentation ceremony explained that the Ghana Library Authority became the spring water that assuage his thirst for reading at a tender age.
The donation was therefore a way of paying part of his debt owed to the Ghana Library Authority.
The Chief Executive of the Ghana Library Authority, Mr. Hayford Siaw received the books on behalf of the Authority, and expressed his appreciation to Mr. Owusu-Koranteng for supporting GhLA’s 2022 Year of Books agenda.
Daniel Owusu-Koranteng is a Trade Unionist/Industrial Relations Practitioner, an Agriculturist, Human Resource Development Specialist, a Professional Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Practitioner, a Professional Paralegal, Poet, Mining Activist/Environmentalist and a Writer.
