Rev. Isaac Owusu the President of Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has cautioned Government to as a matter of urgency supply the laptops promised Teachers about three (3) years ago after deducting Gh509 each from them.
According to him, though Government has delivered the laptops to a few of the Teachers, majority of the GNAT members who have not yet received are very angry and Government should not forget we are in an election year; so “a word to the wise is enough”.
Rev Isaac Owusu made the call in an interview with the media when he led National Leadership of GNAT from Accra to join Nananom, Clergy, GNAT Regional and District Executives to commission the Techiman GNAT Secretariat (Office complex) in the Bono East Region.
Rev. Isaac Owusu further revealed that it is the vision of the current GNAT Leadership to make sure that all their District Secretariats Nationwide get their permanent offices instead of wasting funds on paying rents.
For his part, Mr. Samuel Agyei the Techiman District (North and South) Chairman of GNAT expressed gratitude to Nananom of Techiman for allocating land and everyone who in diverse ways contributed in the construction of this new GNAT Office.
Madam Theresah Kpebu the Techiman North District Director of Ghana Education Service advised Teachers to be very disciplined in their work in order to give the Teaching Profession a good image.
