Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry was honored to host Her Excellency Rosa Liliana Gómez de Weston, the Peruvian Ambassador to Ghana, on December 5, 2024.
Led by First Vice-President Dr. Emilia Assiakwa, this engagement focused on deepening bilateral trade ties and fostering collaborative opportunities between Ghana and Peru.
Key highlights of the meeting included GNCCI’s flagship program, Time with the Ambassador, which serves as a platform for dialogue between diplomats and Ghana’s private sector.
The ambassador expressed interest in using this program to foster partnerships and promote Peruvian-Ghanaian business relations.
Dr. Assiakwa encouraged Peruvian businesses to source from Ghana to ensure balanced trade while urging Ghanaian businesses to position themselves for new opportunities.
Discussions also focused on trust and fair trade practices in business, with GNCCI highlighting its role in verifying the legitimacy of Ghanaian businesses to boost confidence among Peruvian counterparts.
Both parties agreed to formalize their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will establish guidelines for effective trade partnerships and regulatory support.
