The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has once again demonstrated professionalism and prompt emergency response following a fatal road traffic accident at Ayensudo Meyinda on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway on Saturday, 20th December 2025.
At exactly 09:26 hours, the GNFS received a distress call reporting the incident, and a rescue team from the Komenda Fire Station was immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters secured the accident area and successfully extricated five deceased victims who were trapped in a Toyota Hiace bus. Preliminary information indicated that the bus had veered off the road after colliding with a DAF truck.

The GNFS team worked in close collaboration with the Ghana Police Service and the National Ambulance Service to ensure that injured persons received prompt medical attention at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

Following the rescue operation, firefighters cleared debris from the roadway to restore the free flow of traffic and improve public safety. The swift and coordinated response by the GNFS once again underscores the Service’s dedication to saving lives, supporting sister emergency agencies, and promoting safety on Ghana’s roads.
