The Western Zone training on the New Fire Safety Permit and Certificate Management System of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) commenced in Takoradi on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, for Participants drawn from the Western, Central and Western North Regional Commands.
The Western Regional Fire Commander, ACFO I Frederick Ohemeng welcomed all Participants to the two (2) days program which is to end on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
ACFO I Ohemeng said, the program is expected to help the GNFS issue Fire Safety Permits and Certificates to Clients and Investors alike within a few days and again, urged the Participants to focus on assimilating how the new system works in order to achieve the objective of the training program.
Madam Catherine Noella Numbuo, who represented the Ministry of Trade and Industry Business Regulatory Reform Unit said the Ministry has a comprehensive strategy to coordinate activities that seek to streamline regulatory processes, reduce time, reduce cost, and ensure transparency and credibility of doing business in Ghana. “This I believe will boost investor confidence in transacting business in Ghana” she stated.
Participants had the opportunity to ask questions about how the new systems works and also had the opportunity to try their hands on the easy-to-use interface of the computerized system.
The training program was ably coordinated by Assistant Director of Fire Safety, DO I Michael Ato KORSAH.
