The electrifying GNPC Ghana Fastest Human 2020 edition train stops at Cape Coast on Saturday, March 14 after the successful Tamale meet.
The event comes up at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium under the patronage of the chiefs and people of the historic city which boast of some of the best second cycle schools and colleges in Ghana.
Athletes from the Central and Western Regions are mostly invited to the Cape Coast Open.
Certainly student athletes from St. Augustine’s College, Mfanstipim School, Adisadel College, Ghana National, Aggrey Memorial, Holy Child, Mfanstiman, Wesley Girls High School and others would be competing.
The venue is also very ideal for the competition as the tracks are better when compared to others.
The GNPC Ghana Fastest Human 2020 is sponsored by GNPC, GCB Bank, Adidas, Moringa King, Pippas Gym, Wrenco, Kriate Lync and Global Media Alliance.
Other events are going to be competed on the tracks and the field like long jump and high jump.
The concept was invented by Reks Brobbey, a former sprinter who represented Ghana at the Olympic Games. He competed in the men’s 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
His vision and mission is to see a Ghanaian among the world’s best 100 meters athletes. He started in 2013, and the seven year programmes has been noticed as a national venture that must be supported by corporate Ghana.
