Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asked Alan Kyeremanten to gauge his support by running as an independent for president in the impending 2024 General Elections.
One of the front-runners in the NPP flagbearer election, Alan Kyeremanten, withdrew yesterday, blaming the intimidation of his followers and the manipulation of the voting process in favor of one candidate. He then made a commitment to announce his political intentions in the upcoming weeks.
Speaking on TV 3’s New Day program on September 6, 2023, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe advised Alan Kyeremanten to run for president as an independent candidate in order to find out whether the general public supports him or not, even though he acknowledged that the party’s electoral process is being rigged to favor one candidate.
“Alan should go and test his popularity as an independent candidate,” he said.
There are already rumors that Alan Kyeremanten would leave the NPP and start his own party or that he might refuse to support whoever becomes the party’s flagbearer during the National Delegates Conference on November 4, 2023.
