Golden Child Complex School at Asamankese of the Eastern Region has held its maiden career day celebration on the theme: “Achieving Professional Excellence Through Career Guidance”.
The colourful events brought together Professional Teachers, Health Workers, Journalists, Security personnel, Engineers and many others to guide the pupil in their future careers.
Speaking at the program, the proprietor of the School, Mr Evans Agyei said the School which was established over 20 years ago had not Organized such a career guidance program before to allow pupil to meet their role models and said it will continue annually.
He called on Old Students of the School who are now Professionals at various Ministries, Departments and Agencies to visit the school frequently to guide the pupil in their careers and urged parents to search for role models for their kids as they begin the journey into the profession.
Mr Alex Baah, Guidance and Counseling Co-ordinator for West Akyem Education Service called on parents not to force their kids to choose their choice of Profession because most normally fail and are frustrated at the workplace.
He stressed the need for students to differentiate between spirit gift and talent from Knowledge and skills acquisition and do much research about a career before entering into such a Profession.
