The Vice President and the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has said the government has created 2.1 million jobs both in the public and private sector in the last seven years.
To him, the government has created 975000 jobs in the private sector and 1.2 million jobs in the public sector.
Speaking to the clergy and Imams as part of his nationwide campaign tour in the Eastern Region at Akropong Dr Bawumia said that President Akufo-Addo-led administration has contributed greatly to Ghana’s development.
Dr Bawumia admitted that the government has more jobs to create to reduce the unemployment rate in Ghana.
He explained that President Akufo-Addo-led administration has contributed greatly more than any other government in the Fourth Republic.
Dr Bawumia indicated that President Akufo-Addo government has embarked on many developmental projects including airports, roads, interchanges, railways, bridges, fish landing site, sports facilities, sanitation facilities, vehicles and equipment for the security agencies and many others.
On the Mobile Money interoperability, Dr Bawumia cited that Ghana is now number one in the whole Africa in terms of access to financial inclusion.
