The Head of Communications at the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, Richmond Rockson has assured Ghanaians government measures are being put in place to make power stable despite the challenges confronting the ministry.
According to the Head of Communications, the government has already taken strategic measures to address power frustration issues in Ghana.
“There are no fears; the energy sector and government are trying to keep the light on for all Ghanaians no matter what,’’ Richmond Rockson told Kwamina Sam Biney on Bryt Adekyee Musem morning show.
He indicated that the government, as part of ways to improve power supply, will reform the tariff structure in Ghana.
The tariff reform follows the financial strain facing the energy sector. The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, disclosed this statement to the media. He revealed that the NDC government inherited more than GH¢3 billion in outstanding payments owed to power generation companies.
Jinapor’s remarks underscore the government’s commitment to improving operational efficiency and financial sustainability within the energy sector, amid growing concerns over reliability and debt accumulation.
