The Medical Superintendent of the Asamankese Government Hospital in the Eastern Region, Dr. Stephen Ayrakwa has called on political leaders and those seeking positions to support Health facilities in the country to deliver quality healthcare for the people.
According to him, the Government is overburden and depending on only state support always can negatively affect healthcare and called on Political leaders and Appointees to support them.
Dr. Stephen Ayrakwa said this when a Parliamentary Aspirant of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in Lower West Akyem Constituency, Mr. Charles Acheampong and his supporters visited the Hospital and donated some items and medical supplies to them.
He called on the NPP administration to come to their aid to complete a maternity block started under the Kufour administration in 2004 and re-roofing of old maternity block which is beyond their control now.
The items donated include 42 Inches Flat screen Televisions, Pressure Monitor, Fetal Doppler, Disposal Syringes and Examination Gloves.
The same items were donated earlier in the day by Mr. Charles Acheampong to the Osenase Heath Center in the Municipality.
In an interview, the donor said it forms part of his Social Responsibilities and pledge to continue to support healthcare delivery in the area.
