Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio urged the UN Security Council to grant Africa greater representation, including permanent, veto-wielding seats.
Speaking at a meeting he organized, Bio emphasized that Africa’s call for justice and equity must be addressed urgently, condemning the current, outdated structure of the Council as unfair and unrepresentative.
“The time for half-measures and incremental progress is over. Africa must be heard, and its demands for justice and equity must be met,” Bio said.
