The Railway Workers Union of Ghana has issued a shocking communique on the current state of the Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL).
According to the statement issued and signed by the General Secretary of the Union dated 24th October 2022, revealed that operations of the GRCL are collapsing due to its inability to purchase fuel to run its manganese freight as well as the Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU).
The statement added that the salaries of some workers since August are still yet to be paid with the entire staff yet to receive their September salaries.
As a state institution, the aggrieved workers are demanding immediate solutions to salvage GRCL from collapsing.
