Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) Plc, the parent company of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, is set to hold the Proudly African GTCO Music Concert, in partnership with the National Sports Authority. The concert, which is the first of its kind to be organized by the Bank in Ghana, is designed to spotlight the best of African entertainment to a global audience whilst promoting wider acceptance of our character as a vibrant and energetic people.
The GTCO Music Concert is in response to calls to support the tourism and creative arts industry in Ghana while offering customers and the general public a chance to experience exciting performances from well-known artists in Ghana and Nigeria as an end-of-year appreciation and social responsibility initiative. The event has been recognized by the Ghana Tourism Authority as one of it’s Beyond the Return initiatives.
In observance of all Covid-19 safety protocols, e.g. social distancing; a free entrance event of this magnitude could best be held at the Accra Sports Stadium due to its capacity to hold the expected audience.
Bearing in mind the strong passion the nation has for football, the Bank in conjunction with the National Sports Authority has put in place measures to ensure that the soccer pitch is revived and made ready for football activities immediately after the concert.
The local organizers of the Music Concert, GTBank Ghana, can assure the general public that there will be no damage to the pitch nor to other properties of the stadium which is set to hold what is touted to be the biggest concert in Ghana. As part of the pre-event setup, its moveable scaffolds mounted on the pitch will be moved to their intended position on the titan tracks as the setup progresses.
Management of the Bank has guaranteed their commitment to ensuring that football in Ghana does not suffer a setback as a result of this concert. “We acknowledge the concerns surrounding the use of the stadium for such a huge concert during this period. We wish to assure you that all concerns have been carefully considered and the Accra Sports Stadium will be left in a good shape after the concert.”
