Richard Kumadoe, a security expert, has emphasized the importance of keeping guns out of the hands of unauthorized individuals.
According to Mr. Kumadoe, the process of obtaining a gun in Ghana involves registration and obtaining a legitimate license.
He made this assertion during an interview on Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney.
Mr. explained that some people apply for licenses to operate in the arms business, which requires a thorough process and declaration.
“However, the responsibility to ensure guns don’t fall into the wrong hands is crucial and those who fail to comply with the law will face consequences” he stated
The security expert’s comments come after some guns were seized at the Tema harbor.
The security expert clarified individuals involved were not licensed arms dealers and have failed to declare the guns.
He emphasized that even licensed dealers who fail to declare their guns will face penalties, including the possibility of losing their licenses. And even if you are an outsider, you have to pass through standard procedure before you can use it freely.
