The Ghana Water Company Limited in Eastern Region has commenced an investigation into alleged polluted water flowing in taps in some homes in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.
Some residents in Koforidua have been showing videos and photos of muddy water flowing through their taps.
However, a statement issued by the GWCL signed by the PRO says the claims are being investigated.
“The attention of the Management of Ghana Water Company Ltd, Eastern Region has been drawn to the incident of coloured water flowing through the taps of residents in and around Koforidua.
Investigations and remedial/ corrective actions are being taken as a matter of urgency to handle the situation.
Consumers are assured of our resolve to ensure that we ALWAYS serve the public with quality water. The inconvenience caused is deeply much regretted”
