The Ghana Water Company Limited, GWCL, says it will disconnect customers indebted to the company but connected to enjoy Government free water intervention to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo extended the free water package in the wake of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to the end of the year.
According to the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, the move was to enable Ghanaians to continue with the hand washing protocol in the combat of the virus.
In a statement issued by the GWCL Tuesday announcing to the public end of the free water intervention on December 31, 2020, the company also urged landlords to begin processes to collect water bills from tenants for payment beginning January 2021.
