The headteacher of Kwame-Krom M/A School in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region
Mr. Harrison Addai Ackah has blamed the bad handwriting of pupils in the school on inadequate desks.
The school has not received a dual desk for many years leading to a shortage owing to damage to many desks.
According to him, the school is in the need of dual desks, that, students cluster around the few deplorable desks available to write on them which impede the quality of their handwriting.
He appealed to government and corporate entities to support the school with dual desks to enhance teaching and learning.
The Headteacher appealed in an interview with Bryt FM News Correspondent Hamza Mohammed.
He emphasized the need for the communities around to come together to financially support schools in their locality to argue government interventions to help achieve academic excellence
The Chief of Kwame-Krom Nana Kwesi Nipah was deeply worried that, the government is unable to supply school children with dual desks.
The Chief also raised concern about erosion washing away part of the school building.
He said the situation in the school can affect teachers’ morale and impacted negatively on enrollment and retention as many of the children could not play during break time due to the erosion. He added that the school had not received any major rehabilitation works, making the building weak and dangerous to accommodate students.
