The Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has made a heartfelt appeal to Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) to return to their posts, stressing the need to prioritize the well-being of patients across the country.
During a monitoring tour of key health facilities, including Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, LEKMA Hospital, and Ridge Hospital, the Minister observed that while some nurses and midwives were still on duty, the ongoing industrial action has had a visible impact on healthcare delivery.
Hon. Akandoh acknowledged the concerns raised by health professionals and appealed to them to take into account the health and lives of Ghanaians, particularly vulnerable patients who rely on their care daily.
He assured that efforts are ongoing to resolve the impasse and called for continued dialogue to address the demands of the striking workers.
“I remain open to constructive engagement and am hopeful that this situation will be resolved swiftly in the interest of public health,” the Minister stated.
