The Honorable Minister of Health, Mr. Mintah Akandor, has officially addressed the pressing issue of unpaid salaries among healthcare workers, a concern that has been causing considerable distress throughout the country.
During a comprehensive media briefing held earlier on Monday morning, the Minister expressed profound regret and termed it as extremely unfortunate that several nurses, who have been dedicatedly performing their duties without receiving due compensation, find themselves in such a predicament.
In his detailed communication, he underscored the number of nurses who have successfully received their paychecks, acknowledging the worrying fact that there remains a minority who have yet to receive their due salaries.
The Minister sought to reassure these nurses by providing a clear timeline, promising that by the month of November, efforts will be made to ensure that any outstanding payments are fully disbursed.
In addition to addressing the financial aspect, the Minister candidly expressed his disappointment regarding the conduct of a particular nurse who, in her frustration, participated in a public demonstration.
He commented on her behavior, perhaps indicating the need for more communication and understanding on both sides to prevent such situations in the future.
