Accra Hearts of Oak SC Majority shareholder, Togbe Afede XIV has advocated for the resumption of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season amid Coronavirus storm.
The Ghanaian elite division has been on hold since March following the rapid widespread of the Coronavirus.
As a result, some clubs and officials have suggested that the season should be truncated while others have proposed the resumption of football when it’s safe to do so.
The business magnate and traditional ruler in an interview with GTV said, “We should start the league subject to putting in all the precautions. I know that Kurt Okraku and his team have already come out with things that will enhance the designated precautions to ensure that the resumption of football does not counter what government is doing to fight against the disease”
“I think that as soon as possible we should allow players to train in small groups and we should be able to start the season subject to controlling the crowd and adhering to the social distancing and other protocols,” he said.
